Holiday-Cocktail-Party-InviCocktail parties are a great tradition for many during the holidays. These invitations are beautiful and elegant examples of what you can send for your own party. They set a tone of classic Christmas sharing.

Elegant Holiday Cocktail Party Invitations

When you want your party to reflect an elegant and classic tone, one of these invitations makes it easy. Your guests will know right from the invitation. These are just some of the elegant looks for cocktail parties, but my favorites. Each can be customized just for your own party details and come in a number of different paper finishes to choose from.

Party Planning from Invitations

When ever I plan a party, especially one for the holidays, I like to find the invitations first, then work with the designs and color schemes provided for me. If my invitation is silver and blue, with snowflakes and ornaments, then I have all the decor ideas I need.

I will do things like set my buffet table with silver serving dishes. Arrange paper snowflakes around the table for accents. They will provide a lace effect when I set them on a solid blue table cloth. My centerpiece would be a small tree with silver and blue ornaments on it.

Cocktail Parties

Hosting a cocktail party for the holidays is a simpler way to entertain for me. My menu consists of only appetizers, along with some holiday cookies for sweets. My largest table is set for the beverages. Besides basics like coffee, tea and water, I like to set out a variety of punches. Some alcoholic, some not. Along with wine and possibly some unique beers, I have an elegant way to serve drinks to my guests.

Of course, cocktail parties can be a problem if your guests are prone to drinking even a bit too much. So providing beverages that are lower in alcohol content helps, but so do plenty of menu options with breads or crackers. Remember, designated drivers are an important part of just about any party.

I can’t believe it’s time to start thinking about holiday parties, but it is. It will be here quicker than I think so I’d better get on the ball and find my holiday cocktail party invitations. (I prefer appetizer buffets for these types of parties too!)

I usually shy away from throwing Christmas parties because I’ve somehow always associated them with full sit-down meals. A lot of work for a non-cook like me. Why I never thought about a cocktail party is beyond me. But preparing just appetizers would be perfect. I love your idea of using the invitation colors and theme for the party decorations. I can look at what I have in terms of tablecloths, potential centerpieces, etc. and choose an invitation that works with it. Even easier!

  4. Appetizers are right up my alley — much quicker and easier than a full holiday meal. Thanks for a great idea for a ‘smaller’ and ‘easier’ holiday party.
